By Breanne O’Leary

Hello everyone! My name is Breanne O’Leary and I have been working as Celebration Foundation’s new Development/Grants Coordinator since last October. Prior to this position, I was an undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida studying Writing and Rhetoric and Nonprofit Management. I graduated this past May (Go Knights!). I have been a resident of Celebration since 2014 and I’ve really enjoyed living in such a caring community. I enjoy this position because it blends my passion for writing with my desire to work for an organization that helps the local community.

I am very excited to announce that Celebration Foundation has been chosen as a Bags for Change recipient by the Hunter’s Creek location of Lucky’s Market! From now until May 25, if you shop at the Hunter’s Creek location with reusable bags you will receive a wooden dime for each bag that you use. You can then donate the wooden dimes to Celebration Foundation and at the end of the quarter, Lucky’s Market will double the amount that was raised. Celebration Foundation thanks everyone that voted for us in Lucky’s poll, as well as Lucky’s Market for giving us this opportunity!

I am also excited to announce that Celebration Foundation has won a $1,000 grant from the Walmart Supercenter on Turkey Lake Road in Orlando in support of our Learning Without Hunger initiative! If you don’t know about the initiative, the Celebration Foundation, in partnership with other local nonprofits, businesses, and faith-based organizations, provide over 1,200 food insecure Osceola County students with weekend food bags during the school year. Thank you to Walmart for helping assist with this effort!
