Description
This course will introduce music notation as a language. The aim of this course is to develop appreciation for the fundamentals of music and musical performance. Members will learn how to read musical notes and how melodies are formed. By the end of the third class, you will be able to play a simple melody on the recorder! Members will be provided with a recorder and a basic song book. Materials Fee: $15.

Irwin Isaacs
Irwin has an undergraduate degree in Music Education and a Masters in Counseling Psychology. He retired after 28 years as a teacher and guidance counselor in the NYC school system and has been in private practice as a psychotherapist in Florida for more than thirty years. Music and musical performing have always been part of Irwin’s life and he has performed as a saxophonist in jazz combos, big bands and concert bands. Currently, he performs locally with Vision Music at the Artisan Park Clubhouse.
