Have you always wanted to write a play but don’t have a clue how to do it? Workshop: Write a Ten-Minute Play will guide you from your original idea to a staged reading of your play. Seven plays written in this workshop have been produced by theater companies around the United States. Three plays: Naked Player by Don Salvo, My Dream Husband by Nancy Rose Ostinato, and Buckle Up by Lori Lemieux have been published in international anthologies of the best new plays of the year. Part 1 will introduce the concept of ten minute plays and get your play started. Class size is limited to 6

Will’s award-winning play [Miss] received the 2017 Charles M. Getchell Prize from the Southeastern Theatre Conference. Other award-winning plays include: East Lansing (Best Play, Tampa Bay Theatre Festival), In Me (Vigoda Award, Best Dramedy), 5 to 4 (Best Play, 4×6 Fest, Tampa, Florida), Suffocation (Grand Prize, Emerald Theatre Company New Play Festival, Memphis, Tennessee), The Nude (Best Play, A Strong Woman Play Festival, Washington, DC), and After the Intervention (Judges Choice Award, Festival of Shorts, Edmonds, Washington). William Newkirk has a BA from Harvard and an MD from The Ohio State University.
