This year, the Celebration Marathon donated $10,000 to the Celebration Foundation’s Thriving In Place program! We are so grateful and appreciative of the opportunity to partner with this community program.
Ken Zambito, The Town of Celebration Marathon & Half Marathon Race Director, stated it well, “The Town of Celebration Marathon & Half Marathon Board of Directors was happy to once again be able to provide a donation for the Thriving In Place program, as we know it fills a much needed role in our community. Without the support and participation in the event from our sponsors, runners, volunteers, and residents, we would not be able to continue providing this financial boost to the program.”
This program benefits the community in a multitude of ways, but without funders like the Celebration Marathon & Half Marathon and the support we receive, we would not be able to fulfill our mission.
The Thriving In Place members and volunteers had a blast on the soggy weekend of January 25, 2019, while volunteering during the expo and hosting a “rowdy” corner on the morning of the Marathon and Half Marathon to cheer on the runners rain or shine. We look forward to finding new ways to partner to help continue to build the community of Celebration. Building better community.
Thriving In Place is a community-based membership program under the umbrella of the Celebration Foundation. Our members are Celebration residents who are at least 55 years of age, or a person with a disability of any age, who want to stay in their own homes and lead a healthy, safe, independent, and productive life.
