Thriving in Place is a community within our community. It is dedicated to the residents of Celebration who are 55+ or disabled of any age, living on their own. Within this community, Thriving in Place members receive two weekly Doormat Deliveries to continue their community connection and to help them feel supported.

Every Tuesday, Thriving members receive a Tuesday Treat and on Friday’s, receive a Friday Lunch. These items are delivered right to their doorstep by our volunteer delivery drivers. The volunteer delivery drivers wear gloves and masks while transporting the items to ensure the safety of our members. This delivery is contactless; however volunteers have an opportunity to check on these members with a wave and a quick conversation.

Tuesday Treats and Friday Lunches are possible due to the generous donations from our sponsors. These sponsors include volunteers, our Thriving members, and our Thriving Supporters. These sponsors support local businesses weekly, by purchasing treats and lunches directly from the businesses for distribution to the Thriving Members.

Our Thriving Members appreciate having something to look forward to twice a week and find excitement in trying to guess what the restaurant of the week will be. One Thriving Member said, “This is love. When I get a lunch, I know I am loved.” It brings us great pleasure knowing we are able to provide weekly deliveries to these special members of our community. Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteer delivery drivers for making Doormat Deliveries possible!
